This blog's aim is to eventually provide service details and a short biography of every individual from Wombwell, Hemingfield, Jump & Cortonwood who died because of WW1.

This blog also has a list of local war memorials as well as photographs of local military graves and WW1 memorial headstones, Please remember that this blog is a work in progress and will be updated regularly.

This blog has been created using my own independent research. I have used resources such as Ancestry, CWGC, The Barnsley Archives,  local newspapers, local cemeteries, online WW1 forums and Wikipedia to source all the required information. Any aspect that I have received aid with, I have given full credit that individual or organisation.
